WEDNESDAY, APRIL 21 - 7 p.m. - This is the first in a Poetry and Film series in Sacramento. Screening of the documentary, "Red Poet: The Story of Jack Hirschman." Q&A with the filmmaker, Matthew Furey, and reading by Jack Hirschman after the movie. $10 admission for Jack's film and reading, plus this will get you into the Thinking People's Shorts Showcase at 6 p.m. and the short film Lychee Thieves. And if that isn't enough to quench your poetic thirst, why not down a few classics? Professor Kathryn Hohlwein is presenting The Homeric Imagination this year. In spring, starting March 17, there will be six weekly sessions Wednesday nights from 7-9 p.m. at SPC. In this session students will be reading The Illiad. In fall, it's The Odyssey.
